BECUR Participation
In order for undergraduates to participate in the 2013 BECUR Conference poster session, an abstract of the research (by January 25, 2013) will need to be submitted as outlined below. Once submitted, a panel will review the material and contact each individual to inform them if their work will be included in the conference. The following rules and guidelines for submission/participation must be followed in order to be considered:
1. Abstracts should be no more than 350 words and should briefly explain the hypothesis/objectives of the research; experimental methods utilized; essential results gathered from relevant data; conclusion(s) to the overall investigation.
2. The research poster must be an original work of study with credit given to each individual who contributed to the project.
3. All research using human subjects must be in accordance with the Basic Principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and the expanded criteria by the US Government (45 CFR Part 46; 56 FR 28003). If you plan on doing research using human subjects, please visit the Office for the Responsible Conduct of Research.
4. All research using animal subjects must be in accordance with the Statement of Principles for the Use of Animals in Research and Education. If you plan on doing research using animals, please visit the University Animal Care website.
5. Posters should be no larger than 3.8ft (height) by 5.6ft (length) and should include words/illustrations that can be seen clearly about five feet away. Click here for a poster example.
