Subject: Use of UV-Vis

You all are welcome to use the two HP diode array instruments downstairs 
in 111 with the following restrictions:

Please write a short instruction sheet specific to your needs (just 
scanning and labelling lamda max, or quantitation??) and tape to the 
benchtop by both instruments.

The 400a lab is open during the following periods:

	M 1-4, 6-9
	T 8-5, 6-9
	W 10-1, 6-9
	R 8-5, 6-9
	F 10-1, 6-9

Students may come downstairs during these times only.  They should 
identify themselves to the 400a TA and go ahead and use the instrument.

Under no circumstances should they work downstairs if for some reason the 
door was left open, but no class is in session.

They should bring their own cuvette and waste beaker and Kim Wipes.

Starting with week 4 (Feb 10) through week 10 (April 4) one of the two 
instruments will be in use during the above listed times.  Please ask 
your students to work around us.

Good luck and let me know how it is working out.  I'll let you know if 
the students are leaving the instrument and area in an acceptable condition!
