Research Summary

Science Teacher Preparation Program

Dr. Elfring is one of the two biology advisors for the program. She co-teaches, with Jo Quintenz, the Biology Teaching Methods course (BIOC 434).

Teaching experience

Dr. Elfrng is the Chair of the General Biology master's degree program for secondary science teachers. She teaches graduate-level courses in biology and education in that program. She has taught these courses traditionally taught during the summers and recently as distance-learning courses during the school year.

During the school year, she teaches Biology Teaching Methods and also one section of Introductory Biology, MCB 181. She has recently taught two graduate-level courses on Graduate Student Survival Skills for students across campus.
