Knowing what's going on within the Chemistry & Biochemistry Department, around campus, and within the community is vital to your ability to participate in events and activities. We suggest several ways to stay connected to valuable opportunities.
Email Listservs
All Chemistry and Biochemistry majors are automatically placed on their respective listservs. Email content is limited to messages that are relevant to CBC majors. You will receive notices about advising, upcoming events, jobs, special programs, leadership opportunities, research activities, important deadlines, and other things.

Undergraduate Lounge
Declared Chemistry majors have a unique space in the Chemistry Building which promotes collaboration, group study, and networking with other Chemistry majors. Large study tables, computers with internet, and personal lockers make this a nice place to relax and visit with other students, catch up with email or assignments, and store your belongings between classes. A printer is available for use with a limited supply of paper each term. If you prefer to bring your own paper and keep it locked up for your own use, please feel free to do so.
A key code is necessary for entrance, and can be obtained from the CHEM Advisor, but only if you are officially on the CHEM student roster. Students who use the space are responsible for keeping it tidy and reporting any problems as necessary.

Being a part of an organization outside the classroom can be a valuable and rewarding experience. Being able to participate in community activities, social events with those who share similar interests, fundraising, and travel; as well as having opportunities to lead a committee or plan events are great ways to develop leadership skills and increase networking opportunities.
