Research Project:

My research project is an investigation of the scope of azobenzene chromophores acting as liquid crystalline mesogens. Azobenzene chromophores are calamitic mesogens, yet have been incorporated into dendrimers to effect size and property changes. We are particularly interestedin the interplay between the mesogenic properties of the azobenzene chromophore and the self-organizing capabilities of amphiphilic dendrimers.
