SAACS Receives Two ACS Awards

Outstanding Chapter Award and Green Chemistry Chapter Award from The American Chemical Society (ACS)

The University of Arizona's Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS-UAN), is proud to announce that club has received an Outstanding Chapter Award from the ACS for its 2009-2010 activities. In addition, the club has also been awarded the Green Chemistry Chapter Award for its contributions promoting green chemistry practices on campus and throughout the community.

The 2009-10 award winning chapters were recognized at the ACS Student Chapter Award Ceremony held in April at the 241st ACS National Meeting in Anaheim, CA. These honors would not have been possible were it not for the dedicated chemistry and biochemistry student club members, both past and current, and faculty who volunteered their time and effort to make the club the outstanding chapter it is today.

ACS recognizes successful student chapters for conducting exceptional programs and activities during the academic year. The awards are given in three categories: outstanding, commendable, and honorable mention.
