Terefe Habteyes to Receive University of California's Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship

Terefe Habteyes, former graduate student with Professor Sanov, has been informed of his selection as one of the recipients of the University of California's Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship.

The University of California's Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship is one of the nation's most competitive and prestigious awards for Ph.D. level scientists. The Fellowship program spans all areas of academic achievement, including Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, Life Science and Physical Science. The fellowships are awarded to applicants nationwide, who pursue or plan to pursue postdoctoral and faculty positions within the University of California system. Although this year's numbers have not yet been published, last year there were only 6 recipients of this award, combined, in all areas of Mathematics, Engineering & Physical Sciences.

After completing his Ph.D. dissertation in the Sanov group in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Arizona, Dr. Terefe Habteyes is presently working as a postdoctoral research fellow in the group of Steve Leone at the University of California at Berkeley.
