Job Description:

 

  • prep-room workers serve the students during their lab time by providing them glassware, chemicals, and equipment.
  • prep-room workers also act as safety backup for the lab TAs.
  • prep-room workers are the liaison between the TAs and the prep-room staff in room 109.

 

Job responsibilities:

 

  • Fulfill the shift you are assigned.
  • Follow the prep-room Worker Handbook instructions for each experiment.
  • Distribute chemicals and glassware properly to the students.
  • Accurately record students’ charges for broken or missing glassware, rentals, etc.
  • Monitor equipment and report problems to the prep-room staff.
  • Remove waste.
  • Maintain a tidy work environment.

 

Requirements:

 

  •             At least 2 semesters of college Chemistry
  •             Risk Management Safety Training Course (to be completed after hire)
  •             Red Cross Adult CPR and First Aid Certification (to be completed after hire)
  •             Fire Extinguisher Training (to be completed after hire)

 

Shifts:

  •             Shifts start as early as 7:30am, and end as late as 10:00 pm.
