Student Job Description
Job Description:
- prep-room workers serve the students during their lab time by providing them glassware, chemicals, and equipment.
- prep-room workers also act as safety backup for the lab TAs.

- prep-room workers are the liaison between the TAs and the prep-room staff in room 109.
Job responsibilities:
- Fulfill the shift you are assigned.
- Follow the prep-room Worker Handbook instructions for each experiment.
- Distribute chemicals and glassware properly to the students.
- Accurately record students’ charges for broken or missing glassware, rentals, etc.
- Monitor equipment and report problems to the prep-room staff.
- Remove waste.
- Maintain a tidy work environment.
Requirements:
- At least 2 semesters of college Chemistry
- Risk Management Safety Training Course (to be completed after hire)
- Red Cross Adult CPR and First Aid Certification (to be completed after hire)
- Fire Extinguisher Training (to be completed after hire)
Shifts:
- Shifts start as early as 7:30am, and end as late as 10:00 pm.
