Program Overview

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry (CBC) at the University of Arizona is proud to introduce our Research Support Outreach Program (RSOP). CBC boasts one of the largest, best-equipped Research Support Services (RSS) groups housed within a US university. RSS contributes to the department's mission by providing highly-skilled technical and collaborative expertise for a range of multiuser instrumentation. Each RSS facility is staffed by highly-experienced, full time staff scientists who contribute to the educational and research mission of the Department, University and external collaborators.
As part of the outreach mission in CBC, a subset of these services will be made available, on a competitive basis through the fiscal year 2013 RSOP to advance the research efforts of faculty at B.S and M.S. institutions by providing access to state-of-the-art analytical services that are unavailable at the home institution. RSS facilities participating in this program include:

Each RSS facility offers a variety of measurement capabilities to meet your most demanding needs.
Our RSS staff scientists and faculty will assist you in determining the feasibility of the approach and preparing your application, as well as all issues associated with sample preparation, and analysis and interpretation of data. Awards will be made on a competitive basis with expedited review and processing. Award recipients will receive no-cost analytical services, as well as assistance with data analysis and interpretation as indicated in the award letter. Eligibility is limited to faculty members of all ranks at primarily BS and/or MS serving institutions.
