Getting Connected
Knowing what's going on within the Chemistry Department, around campus, and within the community is vital to your ability to participate in events and activities. We suggest several ways to stay connected to valuable opportunities.
CHEMMAJORS Email Listserv
All chemistry majors are automatically placed on the CHEMMAJORS listserv. Email content is limited to messages that are relevant to Chemistry majors. You will receive notices about upcoming events, jobs, special programs, leadership opportunities, research activities, important deadlines, and other things.
Undergraduate Lounge
Declared Chemistry majors have a unique space in the Chemistry Building which promotes collaboration, group study, and networking with other chemistry majors. Large study tables, computers with internet, and personal lockers make this a nice place to relax and visit with other students, catch up with email or assignments, and store your belongings between classes. A printer is available for use with a limited supply of paper each term. If you prefer to bring your own paper and keep it locked up for your own use, please feel free to do so.
A key code is necessary for entrance, and can be obtained by Robin Rarick, but only if you are officially on the CHEM student roster. Students who use the space are responsible for keeping it tidy and reporting any problems to Robin.
Clubs & Organizations
Being a part of an organization
outside the classroom can be a valuable and rewarding experience.
Being able to participate in community activities, social events with
those who share similar interests, fundraising, and travel; as well as
having opportunities to lead a committee or plan events are great ways to
develop leadership skills and increase networking opportunities.

Undergraduate Newsletters
Newsletters are published each fall and spring term. The purpose of each newsletter is to highlight the undergraduates in our program and celebrate the very special things they do. It's another great way to see what's out there and how you can get involved.
Chemistry Seminars
Everyone is invited to attend Department seminars. A variety of topics are presented from all chemical divisions. Going to seminars is a great way to connect with faculty and graduate students and explore your research interests. See the schedule at the link above.
